The day was to be rainy. We were to concede to the storm and use the day for errands, organize the home. Instead after the full flushing of rain, enough to think the rain would last for the day, the sun emerged and it came out strong. The day took a turn and gave a little gifts. From a free car wash removing the sap of nearby trees to a thorough watering of the outdoor plants, the day did more for me than I had done for my self and it was barely noon.
I decided to take the win and open the blinds downward at the same angle the rays of light peeped through. The living room was now illuminated, attracting the small animals I called pets to the edges of the couch where they fit around where I sat with my books and to do lists. I looked out the window to observe the strength of the sun. The sidewalk had begun to dry up and the birds hiding in the neighboring trees emerged full of energy as if the sun had been out since the early morning. I rested my head on the couch which leveled me to about where a small cat sat on the windowsill between the screen allowing air to come through and the suede blue couch. I stared with her out the window, the breeze reminding me why I had chosen this area of the world to be. To both of our delights a light fragrance was swept in with the wind.
